About Us

Silver City Farm is a rustic and charming event facility in North Georgia.
We are honored that you would consider Silver City Farm for your wedding, corporate event or private party! Silver City Farm is a family owned event facility nestled just in between Cumming and Dawsonville near Georgia 400 in North Forsyth County. We are expertly managed by Talk of the Town Catering & Special Events, an award-winning and highly-regarded catering company that has served Atlanta and all of North Georgia for more than 20 years.

Born from a daughter’s wish to get married on the family farm, Silver City Farm owners, Gary and Debbie Shirley, began to scheme about the possibilities. What began as just renting a few tents quickly grew into a country & western barn and dance hall. Built on 20 of the most beautiful acres in North Georgia, Silver City Farm is surrounded by huge white oak and walnut trees on one side and a transcendent pond on the other. Nowhere in North Georgia can you find such a rustic and charming location for your event.

Silver City Farm has been lovingly nurtured over the years and we’ve added authentic-style and antique-fitted features and buildings that will truly wow you and your guests! We not only have a barn complete with stables, the authentic dance hall, a saloon, general store and even an old-time garage on-site! Our venue now features heating and air conditioning to ensure you and your guests are comfortable real round!

I can not say enough about the venue – it is absolutely perfect! Our pictures came out flawless due to the beautiful surroundings of the pond, the barn, the arbors EVERYTHING!! The staff was beyond perfect, they worked with us again on EVERYTHING and they were all there to help with anything we needed. We are so glad we picked this venue and literally for us, nothing else compares.

Incorporated into the design is no shortage of history and antiques. The wood used to construct the building was rough cut from the local sawmill. Rusty tin ceilings were reclaimed from a nearby general store in Ellijay, GA on the decline and brought back to life. The antique double doors that grant entrance into the dancehall were reclaimed from the Lyndale mill in Rome, which helped to bring child labor laws to Georgia back in the early 1900’s. Large single paned windows line the front of the building and made their way to Silver City Farm from the Blairsville General Store – also originating in the early 1900’s. These are just a few of the many items that will bring history and character to your event at Silver City Farm.
